**Background**
Vétérinaires Sans Frontières - Germany (VSF Germany) is a non-governmental, non-profit making international Organization, engaged in the field of veterinary relief and development work providing humanitarian aid and development assistance to pastoralists and vulnerable communities in areas where livestock is of importance. With support in animal health, agriculture, marketing, and food safety, VSFG works towards food security and strengthened livelihoods of pastoralist communities. VSF Germany implements activities in Ethiopia, Sudan, South Sudan, Kenya, Uganda and Somalia.
VSF Germany seeks to recruit qualified and well experienced staff for the position of **Field Officer (2 positions).**
To be based at VSF Germany office at the **field** **location Kapoeta East**, South Sudan. The holder of this position will have an overall environmental and social safeguards oversight for all projects implemented in South Sudan Country Program under VSF Germany.

**Principal Duties and Responsibilities**
This position will be assigned the following duties and responsibilities:
- Facilitate the implementation of livelihood component (livestock production, animal health, and natural resource management) of the project in accordance with project design, implementation planning and other interim plans.
- Support daily field activities, including livestock distributions, trainings, and community mobilizations.
- Collect field data, monitor beneficiary participation, and report on progress.
- Assist in logistics for events (e.g., workshops) and handle basic administrative tasks.
- Engage with communities to identify needs and ensure inclusive implementation.
- Provide on-ground troubleshooting for project challenges
**Experience, Skills and Knowledge Requirements**
- Diploma or degree in Animal Science, Veterinary medicine/animal health; Agriculture, Business Management, Community Development, or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years' field experience in humanitarian or development projects. Working in International organization with similar assignment in Kapoeta East is preferred.
- Knowledge of local context and languages is essential.
- Basic data collection skills; ability to work independently in remote areas.
- Motorcycle license or field mobility experience.
- Firm belief in teamwork, gender equality, sensitivity to HIV/AIDS, participatory approach and sustainable development.
