WiFi FTTH Technician

We are looking for a hands-on field technician to install, restore and maintain fibre and network services at our sites. This is a practical upcountry role for someone who can trace a fault and fix it without waiting to be told what to do.

Key Responsibilities

Pull, terminate and fusion splice fibre on campus routes and along KPLC poles

Install, provision and troubleshoot ONTs and EPON or GPON OLTs

Configure MikroTik RouterOS including bridges, VLANs, DHCP, hotspot, simple queues and basic routing

Deploy and align wireless access points and routers for hostel and campus coverage

Diagnose link faults using an optical power meter and OTDR, and restore service

Maintain accurate records of deployed and reclaimed equipment, including serial and MAC addresses

Report site status, traffic and user growth to the supervisor

Observe safety standards at all times, including the use of reflectors and safety gear

Travel and relocate to one of our sites as assigned, including Nakuru, Eldoret, Kericho, Kisii and Bungoma

Minimum Qualifications

Diploma of at least two years in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications or ICT from a reputable technical college

Demonstrated field experience in fibre installation, splicing and ISP network support

Working knowledge of MikroTik RouterOS, with certification an added advantage

Ability to work independently at a site with minimal supervision

Valid Certificate of Good Conduct
