Chief Financial Officer | Kenya – Food Industry

About this opportunity

​ Our client, a leading meat processing business in Kenya, is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to partner with the CEO and Board in driving the next phase of growth, performance and transformation.
This is a high-impact leadership role for a commercially minded finance executive who can bring UK/European best practice into a large-scale manufacturing environment. Leading a finance team of circa 50 staff, the CFO will be responsible for financial strategy, performance management, governance, operational improvement and business growth initiatives.
Responsibilities:
• Partner with the CEO and Board on strategic, commercial and financial decision-making.

• Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial planning and business performance management.

• Drive profitability, cost control, working capital and cash flow improvement.

• Evaluate investments, expansion opportunities and strategic projects.

• Strengthen financial controls, governance, reporting and risk management.

• Develop high-performing finance teams, systems and processes.

• Manage relationships with banks, investors and key external stakeholders.

Qualifications:
• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).

• 20+ years' senior finance leadership experience.

• Previous CFO, Finance Director or equivalent leadership role.

• Strong manufacturing finance experience, ideally within meat processing, protein production or food manufacturing.

• Deep understanding of operational finance, costing, margins, capital investment and business performance.

• Experience supporting growth, transformation or change programmes.

• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence at Board level.
