About this opportunity
The Nutrition and Health Coordinator is responsible for developing the nutrition, health, and psychosocial support strategy for the Lebanon mission, as well as supporting the integration and mainstreaming of these components across all organizational programs.
The role also involves designing, overseeing, and coordinating nutrition, health, mental health, and care practices programs, while ensuring effective collaboration and liaison with external partners.
**Objective 1: Process: Strategy**
- To support the Country Director and Coordination Team in country analysis and strategy definition.
- To develop and update health and nutrition sector strategy and ensure the sustainability of the project outcomes.
- To promote ACF technical policies, position papers, modules, guidelines and protocols among the members of the department.
- To collect and update information on nutrition and health indicators, actors and activities nationwide for analysis and identification potential areas, partners and priority activities.
**Objective 2: Process: Design and implementation of programs**
- To ensure that the commitments to donors are respected in the implementation of the activities on the field.
- To ensure the quality and timely implementation of the planned activities. To follow and support field activities through visits, phone and email.
- To capitalize the experiences and develop good practices and success stories.
- To give technical assistance and orientation to the rest of the nutrition and health staff from ACF and partners.
- To train, manage and conduct regular performance evaluation of the rest of the health and nutrition staff.
- When necessary, to participate in the recruitment of nutrition and health staff, including review of job descriptions.
- Ensure cross-cutting issues (gender, MHPSS, social protection) are integrated and mainstreamed in health and nutrition activities in coordination and consultation with other technical departments.
- Any other task required to achieve the project objective or fall within the mandate of ACF.
**Objective 3: Process: Coordination and representation**
- To participate in coordination meetings with external stakeholders and nutrition and health sector working groups.
- To represent ACF for internal and external coordination at the capital level for issues related to health and nutrition.
- To act as focal point on nutrition and health related issues.
- To liaise with the health and nutrition technical staff in the HQ.
**Objective 4: Security**
- Respect the security rules specified in the mission and capital base security plan, see to it that the team under his/her responsibility complies with the security plan and perform the security management tasks that can be assigned in its protocols.
- Communicate to the security managers of the working location any security related information or noncompliance with the security plan.
- Keep the confidentiality and security of all ACF records and information gathered in the course of employment with ACF.
**Objective 5: Support humanitarian activities of Action Against Hunger**
- Support the emergency interventions of the organization as per the employee’s abilities.
- Support any activity that helps reaching our humanitarian goals, as per the employee’s abilities.
- Promote gender equality within the humanitarian and/or development work
## **Key activities in your role will include**
- Develop, update, and oversee the implementation of the nutrition, health, and psychosocial support strategy, ensuring alignment with the mission’s priorities and sustainability objectives
- Design, coordinate, and ensure the quality and timely implementation of nutrition, health, MHPSS, and care practices programs across all project locations.
- Provide technical guidance, training, and performance management to health and nutrition staff and partners, ensuring adherence to standards, protocols, and best practices.
- Represent the organization in coordination forums, liaise with donors, authorities, and partners, and act as the focal point for all nutrition and health-related matters.
- Ensure cross-cutting themes (e.g., gender, MHPSS, social protection) are mainstreamed across programs, and that activities comply with donor requirements, organizational policies, and security protocols
## **Do you meet the profile required criteria?**
- Strong knowledge of public health, nutrition (including CMAM and IYCF), primary healthcare, sexual and reproductive health, and MHPSS approaches.
- Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in nutrition and health programs within humanitarian or emergency/post-emergency contexts, preferably in the Middle East.
- Ability to analyze health and nutrition indicators, contribute to country analysis, and translate data into effective strategies and program design.
- Proven ability to manage teams, provide technical guidance, deliver training, and conduct performance evaluations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with demonstrated ability to coordinate with donors, government authorities, NGOs, and cluster platforms, and represent the organization effectively.
