About this opportunity
The Department of Biology, University of Nairobi, invites applications from qualified candidates for two scholarship opportunities to pursue a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Fresh Water and Marine Biology.
Programme Focus.
The MSc programme aims to build capacity in aquatic biodiversity conservation, ecosystem management and restoration, sustainable development, aquatic resources governance and policies, climate change and resilience and the Blue Economy.
Scholarship Coverage
The scholarship will cover tuition and/or research expenses throughout the programme, subject to satisfactory academic performance.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
1. Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Conservation Biology, Fisheries, Aquatic Sciences, Environmental Science, or a related field from a recognized university.
2. Have obtained First Class Honours or Second Class Honours (Upper Division) at the time of application.
3. Demonstrate strong interest in aquatic biodiversity conservation and resource management, blue economy or related areas.
4. Possess relevant work experience, which will be an added advantage.
5. Meet the University of Nairobi postgraduate admission requirements.
