**About the role**
The Senior Regional Nutrition Policy Analysis & Coordination Specialist will be a member of NI's Africa Regional Office, providing analytical, policy, and coordination support to advance NI's regional nutrition agenda. The incumbent will lead regional landscape analysis, monitor malnutrition burden trends, track financing and partnership opportunities, and conduct policy analysis at regional and country levels. The role requires proactive engagement with relevant stakeholders to strengthen the enabling environment for nutrition action across Africa.
**Key responsibilities**
**Policy Analysis at Regional and Country Level**
Lead analysis of regional frameworks and national nutrition policies across NI’s focus countries; identify gaps and opportunities, produce policy briefs and technical guidance, monitor policy developments, and synthesize evidence to drive advocacy and strengthen NI’s policy influence.
**Regional Nutrition Landscape Analysis**
Lead comprehensive mapping and analysis of the nutrition landscape across NI's African focus countries, covering the burden of stunting, wasting, anaemia, micronutrient deficiencies, and other forms of malnutrition.
Synthesize evidence from multiple data sources to produce high-quality landscape reports, situation analyses, and policy briefs
**Tracking Regional Financing & Partnership Trends**
Monitor nutrition financing flows and funding trends (government, bilateral, multilateral, philanthropic), identify financing gaps and mobilization opportunities, maintain a live tracker of partners and pipelines, and support proposal development.
**Partnership & Stakeholder Engagement Support and Coordination**
Identify strategic engagement opportunities at regional level, including regional economic communities, multilateral development banks, philanthropies and foundations, donors, and NGOs.
Support the organization and facilitation of policy dialogues, technical working groups, and advocacy events.
Represent NI at regional fora relevant to the interventions implemented in the region.
**Internal Coordination and Knowledge Sharing**
Work closely with Country and Portfolio teams to ensure that regional policy analysis and landscape insights inform NI's work and organizational learning.
Collaborate with NI’s Communications, Partner and Growth, MDL and R&D teams to ensure that regional evidence and analysis products are aligned with organizational priorities and support internal decision-making
## **Requirements**
**Education/Professional Designations/Experience:**
- Master’s degree in public policy, political economy, development studies, strategic management, or any other relevant social science discipline from a recognized university.
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in policy analysis, preferably in nutrition or public health.
- Demonstrated ability to relate local contexts with global agenda.
- Experience working in or with African governments, regional bodies, or NGOs
- Demonstrated experience in producing policy briefs and technical reports.
- Knowledge of health systems in African contexts.
- Strong analytical skills.
**Other Specific Skill Requirements**
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (French is an asset).
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
